Course Description
From experiment to simulation to typesetting the final draft, we will explore how to make a mathematical paper from scratch and to make code draw your diagrams for you. Make an experiment and write a math paper to show off your results. This course will teach coding in LaTeX and R to make the paper look polished and official, with a dollop of mathematics.Monday: Explore the problem. Design the class experiment.
Tuesday: Code the simulation
Wednesday: What does the math mean? Writing preliminaries.
Thursday: Write the paper!
Friday: (bonus) make your math cartoon character~~
