Embark on a transformative 5-day journey into the heart of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector with this engaging and interactive course designed for students in grades 8 to 11. This course aims to instill a sense of social responsibility, cultivate leadership skills, and foster a deep understanding of the critical role nonprofits play in shaping our communities.Day 1: Unveiling the Power of Philanthropy
Discover the true meaning of philanthropy and its impact on society. Through thought-provoking discussions, case studies, and real-world examples, students will explore the various forms of philanthropy, from individual acts of kindness to large-scale charitable initiatives. Guest speaker(s) from diverse background(s) will share their experiences, inspiring students to envision their potential as change makers.
Day 2: Navigating the Nonprofit Landscape
Dive into the dynamic world of nonprofits as we explore their structure, mission, and impact. Through an interactive classroom environment, students will gain insights into the importance of nonprofit organizations in addressing societal issues. From grassroots initiatives to global NGOs, participants will learn about the diverse strategies employed by nonprofits to create positive change.
Day 3: Crafting a Vision for Change
In this hands-on session, students will have the opportunity to identify issues close to their hearts and envision potential solutions.
